This took place when the ereader was in a pre-order status, and ever since this occurred the Kindle 3 has been selling faster than it can ship. Consumers who purchased the ereader right when it went on pre-order started to receive the unit at the end of August, but new orders have been coming with an expected ship date of September 17, or before. Now the estimated Kindle 3 shipping date has been pushed out a few more days to September 20th. This applies to the the Wi-Fi 3G Kindle for $189 and a Wi-Fi only Kindle for $139."
