Mashable: "It’s been almost exactly one year since Barnes & Noble announced its Amazon Kindle competitor, the NOOK E-Reader. So when invites went out for a Barnes & Noble event to be held on October 26, it was difficult to think that it could be regarding anything other than NOOK. To add a bit of fuel to the fire, Barnes & Noble announced on Monday that NOOK would soon be updatede to firmware version 1.5.
